Bobby Smith
Steel Operations Manager
Bobby Smith is the Steel Operations Manager at Superior Rigging & Erecting Co. Smith joined Superior in 1996 as an apprentice ironworker through Local 387.
From starting as a journeyman iron worker to general foreman then superintendent, to now operations manager, Smith has been promoted several times throughout his 26-year career with Superior. As a key member of the SRE leadership team, Smith finds mentoring and training other employees along the way to be a strong suit. His impact on employees across many departments and geographical locations has shown to be a huge success.
A few of Smith’s favorite projects he has worked on are the Kia Car Plant, Amway Center, Red Sox Stadium, Marlins Stadium, Daytona Speedway, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Smith led Superior and his team to major success and company growth on these projects.
Smith’s favorite part of working for Superior is the people. He enjoys the day-to-day challenges and interacting with all different departments.
